كشفت مصادر مطلعة عن دور خليجي فاعل ساهم في تهدئة لهجة واشنطن تجاه طهران، في وقت تراجعت فيه حدة التصريحات الأمريكية خلال الساعات الماضية بشأن إيران.
وقال مسؤول سعودي، الخميس، إن السعودية وقطر وسلطنة عُمان نجحت في إقناع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بضرورة منح إيران فرصة، محذّرة في الوقت ذاته من «ردات فعل خطيرة» قد تترتب على أي استهداف مباشر للداخل الإيراني، بحسب ما نقلته وكالة «فرانس برس».
تواصل مستمر مع واشنطن
وأوضح المسؤول أن الرياض والدوحة ومسقط ما زالت على تواصل مباشر مع الإدارة الأمريكية بشأن تطورات الملف الإيراني، في إطار مساعٍ دبلوماسية تهدف إلى احتواء التصعيد والحفاظ على استقرار المنطقة.
وبالتزامن مع هذه التحركات، أكدت ثلاثة مصادر مطلعة خفض مستوى التحذير الأمني في قاعدة العديد الجوية الأمريكية في قطر، وذلك بعد ساعات من رفعه مؤقتاً وإخلاء عدد من الجنود والعاملين، في مؤشر إضافي على تراجع منسوب التوتر
الرئيس الأمريكي يتراجع
من جهة أخرى، ألمح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إلى تطور إيجابي في الملف الإيراني، في ظل التوتر المتصاعد بين واشنطن وطهران، مشيراً إلى أن السلطات الإيرانية تراجعت عن تنفيذ أحكام إعدام بحق متظاهرين.
ونقل ترمب، في منشور عبر منصته «تروث سوشال» اليوم (الخميس)، خبراً أوردته شبكة «فوكس نيوز» جاء فيه أنه «لن يُحكم على المتظاهر الإيراني بالإعدام بعد تحذيرات الرئيس ترمب، وكذلك الأمر بالنسبة لآخرين».
وعلق ترمب على هذا الخبر كاتباً في منشور عبر منصته «تروث سوشال»، الخميس: «هذا خبر سار.. نأمل أن يستمر!».
نفي إيراني وتنفيذ مستبعد
بالتزامن، نفت السلطات الإيرانية صدور حكم بالإعدام بحق عرفان سلطاني، الذي اعتُقل السبت الماضي على خلفية مشاركته في الاحتجاجات، مؤكدة أنه محتجز في سجن كرج قرب طهران.
وأوضحت وكالة «ميزان» التابعة للسلطة القضائية أن سلطاني يواجه اتهامات تتعلق بـ«تنظيم تجمعات مناهضة للأمن القومي ونشر دعاية معادية للنظام»، مشددة على أن هذه التهم لا تندرج ضمن الجرائم التي يعاقب عليها بالإعدام، وأن أقصى عقوبتها السجن في حال الإدانة.
تراجع في لهجة التهديد الأمريكية
وكان ترمب قد كرر، خلال الأسابيع الماضية، تلويحه بالتدخل دعماً للمتظاهرين في حال «استمرار القتل»، إلا أنه أشار، الأربعاء، إلى تلقيه معلومات تفيد بتراجع عمليات قتل المحتجين، في ما عُدّ خفضاً لنبرة التصعيد، بعدما لوّح سابقاً بإمكانية عمل عسكري.
تحذير إيراني مقابل
في المقابل، شدد مسؤولون إيرانيون على أن أي هجوم يستهدف بلادهم سيُقابل برد حاسم، يشمل ضربات ضد إسرائيل والقواعد العسكرية الأمريكية المنتشرة في المنطقة.
Informed sources revealed a significant Gulf role that contributed to calming Washington's rhetoric towards Tehran, at a time when the intensity of American statements regarding Iran has decreased in recent hours.
A Saudi official stated on Thursday that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman succeeded in convincing U.S. President Donald Trump of the necessity to give Iran a chance, while warning at the same time of "dangerous reactions" that could result from any direct targeting of Iranian territory, according to what was reported by the French news agency.
Continuous Communication with Washington
The official clarified that Riyadh, Doha, and Muscat are still in direct contact with the U.S. administration regarding developments in the Iranian file, as part of diplomatic efforts aimed at containing escalation and maintaining regional stability.
Simultaneously with these movements, three informed sources confirmed a reduction in the security alert level at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, just hours after it was temporarily raised and several soldiers and workers were evacuated, indicating a further decrease in tension.
The U.S. President Retracts
On another note, U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at a positive development in the Iranian file amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, indicating that Iranian authorities have retracted from carrying out death sentences against protesters.
Trump conveyed, in a post on his platform "Truth Social" today (Thursday), news reported by Fox News stating that "the Iranian protester will not be sentenced to death after President Trump's warnings, and the same goes for others."

Iranian Denial and Unlikely Execution
At the same time, Iranian authorities denied that a death sentence had been issued against Erfan Soltani, who was arrested last Saturday for participating in the protests, confirming that he is being held in Karaj prison near Tehran.
The "Mizan" agency, affiliated with the judiciary, clarified that Soltani faces charges related to "organizing gatherings against national security and spreading anti-regime propaganda," emphasizing that these charges do not fall under crimes punishable by death, and that the maximum penalty would be imprisonment in the event of conviction.
Decrease in American Threatening Rhetoric
Trump had repeatedly hinted in recent weeks at the possibility of intervening in support of protesters if "the killings continue," but he indicated on Wednesday that he received information suggesting a decrease in the killing of protesters, which was seen as a reduction in the tone of escalation, after he had previously hinted at the possibility of military action.
Iranian Warning in Response
In contrast, Iranian officials emphasized that any attack targeting their country would be met with a decisive response, including strikes against Israel and U.S. military bases deployed in the region.
