اطّلع محافظ المهد الدكتور سلامة بن عيد الرفاعي ميدانيًا على جاهزية موقع مرحلة وقوف «رالي داكار» الواقعة ضمن نطاق المحافظة، وذلك بحضور مديري الجهات الأمنية المشاركة.

وأشاد المحافظ بمستوى الاستعداد والتنظيم والإجراءات الأمنية المتخذة، مؤكدًا أهمية تكامل أدوار الجهات المعنية، وفي مقدمتها الشرطة والمرور والدفاع المدني، لضمان سلامة المشاركين والمتابعين، وانسيابية الحركة، وإبراز المحافظة بصورة مشرفة تواكب استضافة المملكة للفعاليات الرياضية العالمية.

ويُعد «رالي داكار» من أبرز سباقات التحمل على الطرق الوعرة عالميًا، ويشارك فيه أكثر من 800 متسابق يمثلون 69 جنسية، عبر 433 مركبة موزعة على عدة فئات، ضمن مسار يمتد لآلاف الكيلومترات ويعبر عددًا من مناطق المملكة.

The Governor of Al-Mahd, Dr. Salama bin Eid Al-Rifai, conducted a field visit to assess the readiness of the location for the "Dakar Rally" stop within the governorate, in the presence of directors from the participating security agencies.

The governor praised the level of preparedness, organization, and security measures taken, emphasizing the importance of the integration of the roles of the concerned authorities, primarily the police, traffic, and civil defense, to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, the smooth flow of movement, and to showcase the governorate in a commendable manner that aligns with the Kingdom's hosting of global sporting events.

The "Dakar Rally" is considered one of the most prominent endurance races on off-road tracks globally, with over 800 competitors representing 69 nationalities, across 433 vehicles distributed across several categories, along a route that spans thousands of kilometers and crosses several regions of the Kingdom.
